Laser doesn't work on all types of hair, electrolysis does, so it's more powerful. also, electrolysis is the only one allowed to be called "permanent hair removal". it seriously works when all else fails.. It sounds like your dark hair would be a good candidate for laser, though (assuming your skin is not especially dark). however, depending on how dense it is, electrolysis might be less onerous for you than it is for many of us.. Electrolysis versus laser hair removal. the mainstream laser unit can only be used on those with light skin and dark hair. it can burn those with dark skin and doesn't give optimal results for people with light hair because the laser targets pigment (dark color)..
Laser hair removal vs electrolysis – get the facts! guest post by aleya of vs1 salon in new york. one of the most commonly asked questions i get from my new clients is which one is better: laser hair removal vs electrolysis?. Laser hair removal uses infrared light to target pigment in the hair follicles, converting the light into heat to cause follicular destruction. unlike electrolysis which addresses one follicle at a time, laser hair removal treatments can quickly address large areas of the skin.. So, i went with laser (but i'm a perfect candidate with dark face hair and light skin). i go to a plastic surgeon's office that does laser. where i am laser sessions are 3 for $500, but i got a promotional for 5 sessions for $500..
